Empowering Women with Ten Thousand Villages
March is Women's History Month, and I'm teaming up with Ten Thousand Villages to share empowering stories featuring women from around the world.
Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit that creates opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn an income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term, fair trading relationships.
I learned about this organization through a friend many years ago, and I've consciously shopped here at the Redondo Beach location for coffee, greeting cards, socks, etc.
This is such a meaningful partnership for me because this organization does so much to help women, especially those in third-world countries where they don't have many options to lead successful lives. Through the items they make (that I can buy), they are able to make enough money to buy their own homes and send their kids to school. These are privileges many of us don't even think twice about here in U.S.
Every Monday, I'm sharing a new video both on Instagram and YouTube, and I hope it helps to spread awareness of Ten Thousand Villages' unique mission and helps them to continue supporting the 130+ artisans from around the world.
